We’re taking a bus down to Chicago but we have a 55-person limit. Reserve your seat today by signing up here, then paying $30 per seat. We’ll leave at 3 a.m. on Saturday, August 6 from the Muslim Center of Detroit in time to stop for a quick break and still make it to the park before the start of the festival. And we’re planning to be back in Detroit by 3 a.m. on August 7.

This year, Takin’ It to the Streets will mark the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s march into Marquette Park during the Chicago Freedom Movement, and we will be re-creating part of that historic march on the morning of August 6th. Join hundreds of people from across the city and country and be a part of history by registering to be a 1000 Mile Marcher on the official MLK Living Memorial website.
