Interfaith Insight Initiative
It’s with great excitement that we announce the launch of the Interfaith Insight Initiative (I3), a transformative new partnership designed to enrich our community with vital information and resources.
Furthermore, this unique collaboration is led by one of the premier news outlets in the city–BridgeDetroit–and brings together Dream of Detroit alongside the Detroit Downtown Synagogue, and Triumph Church to make sure that the large and diverse communities we serve have their interests reflected in local media.
In addition, BridgeDetroit’s Community Priorities Model includes:
- Engagement-Focused Journalism: Connecting Detroiters to each other, decision-makers, and journalists to deepen understanding of key issues.
- High-Impact, Project-Based Journalism: Concentrating on themes identified each year that hold the highest community importance and potential for change.
- Direct Response Journalism: Providing essential information to individuals, enabling them to fully participate in civic life, from utility shutoff information to understanding governmental processes.
In partnership with DREAM, Detroit Downtown Synagogue, and Triumph Church, connecting to the Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities respectively, this initiative leverages the strengths and outreach capabilities of all partners. Our shared goal is to ensure that reliable information and essential resources reach residents across the city, and that those residents are receiving the news they care about and need.
Triumph Church is a Christian church located in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan, USA. It was founded in the Fall of 1920 by Reverend Claude Cummings as the Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Solomon W. Kinloch, Jr. is currently the Senior Pastor. More notably, the church is recognized for its exponential growth. According to Outreach Magazine, it is one of the fastest growing churches in the United States, with more than 2,000 new members formalizing a commitment to the church each year.
The Downtown Synagogue is to serve as a beacon for the entire Jewish community of Metropolitan Detroit by maintaining an egalitarian synagogue, rooted in Jewish tradition and affirming of pluralistic practice, in downtown Detroit. It encourages intergenerational engagement and promotes broad-based participation by offering a wide range of programming and acting as a conduit for Jewish activity in the city. It is committed to supporting the revitalization of Detroit; and assuring accessibility to all.
Additionally, we will be sharing insights from BridgeDetroit through our newsletters and social media platforms. Moreover, we will provide them with content and organize a joint event later this year insha’Allah to further engage with our community. We strongly believe that this partnership will greatly enhance our community by fostering informed engagement.
