DREAM Community Organizing Training
A Weekend of Purpose, Strategy, and Collective Power
Are you ready to turn your concern for our neighborhoods into real, organized power? Now more than ever, our communities need leaders who can organize with purpose, compassion, and a solid strategy.
This February, we’re bringing together Detroiters committed to justice, renewal, and people-powered change for our DREAM Community Organizing Training.
Rooted in faith, storytelling, and collective action, this weekend is about learning new skills and it’s about building the soul of our movement. We’re equipping participants with the tools to move from concern to sustained impact.
Will you join us?
Why This Training Matters
We all want better for our streets, our masjids, our churches, and our neighbors. But wanting change and making change are two different things.
This training connects the dots. It is designed for community members, volunteers, and emerging leaders who are ready to:
- Deepen their leadership and organizing practice.
- Learn practical frameworks for modern community organizing that actually work.
- Build relationships with a network of organizers and partners who have your back.
- Connect faith and values to real-world action.
This is a space to ground ourselves in our shared values and sharpen our strategies for the work ahead.
What You’ll Learn
We aren’t just doing lectures. Through interactive sessions, small-group discussions, and collective reflection, we’re going to dig deep.
Key topics include:
- Foundations of organizing: How to build power effectively.
- Faith-rooted organizing: Using our moral imagination to guide our work.
- Storytelling: How to use your personal narrative as a tool for mobilization.
- Building trust: Creating accountability and sustainable leadership.
- Local action: Specific strategies for Detroit neighborhoods.
