We have a very important message from our partners at the Property Tax Justice Coalition:

Attention Homeowners,

If you think your property taxes are too high, we have exciting news! The Coalition for Property Tax Justice has launched the 2024 Property Tax Appeal Project (PTAP), which will check if the City of Detroit is illegally overtaxing you. If so, PTAP can appeal your property tax assessment for FREE.

All you have to do is fill out our application and the Coalition can take care of the rest.

This year, the Coalition is trying to help 500 homeowners appeal their property tax assessments. To help the Coalition accomplish this historic feat, please send the following links to 3-5 homeowners interested in reducing their property tax bills.:

  1. Link to file the appeal: https://app.propertytaxproject.com/detroit

  2. Link to the flyer, getting the word out about this FREE appeal service: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hxh7cU9NfYsWBams0WhJg12DuXQnsfwq/view?usp=sharing

Together, we can fight back against illegally inflated property taxes in Detroit.

Lastly, this month at Coffee and Stories, the Director of the Property Assessment Board of Review, Willie Donwell, will join us to discuss the Board of Review’s property tax appeals process.

It will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. at Eastside Community Network.
