The Waverly Project

Waverly Street, between Woodrow Wilson and Rosa Parks Blvd currently houses roughly 26 residents in nine occupied homes. Neighborly Needs, a founding partner of Dream of Detroit, began purchasing properties on Waverly in 2010, has since acquired four homes on five lots, and is currently in the process of securing two more vacant lots on Waverly. During phase one of DREAM’s plan, the Waverly Project, we intend to redevelop between four to six lots by December 2014 on the block of Waverly Street directly adjacent to the Muslim Center.

With the Waverly Project, our goals are:

  1. Complete renovations and place residents in all vacant properties on Waverly Street
  2. Partner with other charitable organizations to make building and rehabilitating a transformative experience
